(Hastings, MN) -- An Apple Valley man has been indicted on first- and second-degree murder charges in the March 7th death of his wife and her unborn child. Thirty-six-year-old Roger Holland is accused of strangling 37-year-old Margorie Holland in their townhome. Holland initially called police to report his pregnant wife was lying at the bottom of the stairs and was not breathing. The medical examiner later determined his pregnant wife died of strangulation, not a fall down stairs. The criminal complaint say Margorie sent Roger a text the night before she died saying she intended to divorce him. Investigators also found searches on his computer about whether you can break your neck falling down stairs. Holland remains in the Dakota County jail.
