(St. Paul, MN)  --  State lawmakers are considering a bill that backers say will help protect seniors from wire transfer fraud.  Among other things, it would require that wire transfer companies confirm the location provided by the sender is where the money actually ends up.  Representative Joe Atkins says that alone should scare off some of the scammers.  He says when scammers target seniors, most of the time money is wired to one place but picked up elsewhere.  One particularly common scam:  Someone posing as a grandchild will call a senior citizen, saying they're in trouble and asking them to send money.
