Last month I wrote about the "Cola Curse" that seems to follow Stingers players that stay in our household. I say it's time to "Reverse the Curse!" Today Sharon and I get our newest player, a young left handed pitcher named Ben Burns. He's a native of Menominee Falls Wisconsin and attends college at Daytona State College in Florida. Ben is coming to Willmar to replace another Stingers player who went home with injuries. We look forward to hosting Ben. By the way, here's an update on our player from last year, Seth Spivack from California...his mother contacted Sharon and I and said I was wrong when I said he was no longer on the Cal Baseball team. In an email, Seth's mom said he is an active member of the Golden Bears, which made a great run into the College World Series this year. I couldn't be more delighted to be wrong...Seth's a great guy, a lot of fun to be around, and can really bring the heat on the mound. Nothing would please me more than to see Seth in a major league uniform some time! Sorry for any misunderstanding, Spivacks.
