3-25-11 Minnesota...Presidential Hotbed?

With both former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty and current 6th District Representative Michele Bachmann likely running for president, why not create one Minnesota ticket?   The question is, who should be president, and who should be VP?   Right now Bachmann seems to have the edge over Pawlenty, simply because she's already been lampooned once on Saturday Night Live because of her delivery of the Tea Party response to the President's State of the Union Address.    Politics aside, Bachmann is often on national talk and news shows because of her strident conservative views, and many times her appearances are re-broadcast because of a gaffe like not looking at the camera during the Tea Party address, or getting Massachusetts and New Hampshire confused on where the "shot heard round the world" was fired.   And this question has to be asked...would anyone be paying attention to her at all if she looked like Rosie O'Donnell?   As for Governor Pawlenty, he also has good looks going for him.   Although physical appearance doesn't always predict who will win an election.   Example...Al Franken against Norm Coleman.   (Although many believe Coleman was cheated out of his seat).   Al Franken...another Minnesota connection to Saturday night live.     The actors and producers of that show would be in heaven if there were a Sarah Palin-Michele Bachmann ticket!

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this morning's Radio For Relief Broadcast.   This type of event makes me glad I work for the company I do.   Such a talented staff, working in such a great community, both coming together to benefit a very worthy cause, the Willmar Area Food Shelf.   Even in this slow economy, a combination of nearly 40,000 dollars and pounds raised in just a few hours.   If you're flexible enough, pat yourself on the back!
